What qualities do employers look for in bartenders?
Recently finished education (age 18) and i'm applying for bartending work but still need to finish my CV. What personal qualities are desired by employers in this job?

Difficult question, as every bar manager is a different person. Some respond only to looks or 'cocky' personalities, some (better managers) respond to a psychology of a more humble nature. As a bartender/manager of over 20 years, I feel it takes a few things to be a great bartender... More

Good communication skills, an easy person to get along with - a teamworker, good with figures, reliable, honest.

It's almost all in your personality, from how you get on with customers, adapt to situations, deal with difficult people (you are serving alcohol after all) through to how well you cope under pressure. Honesty, technical ability and memory + maths skills also useful/essential as well.
